Applications are invited Online only from qualified candidates for appointment in the
undermentioned post in Kerala Government Service. Before applying for the post the candidates should
register as per the One Time Registration through the official website of Kerala Public Service Commission.

1. Department : Hydrographic Survey Wing
2. Name of Post : Field Assistant
3. Scale of pay : ₹ 37,400 – 79,000/-
4. Number of vacancies : 03 (Three)
The above vacancies are now in existence. The Ranked list published by the Commission in response
to this notification shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year provided that the said list
will continue to be in force till the publication of a new list after the expiry of the minimum period of
one year, or till the expiry of three years whichever is earlier. Candidates will be advised from the said
list against the vacancies noted above and also against the vacancies if any reported to the Commission
in writing during the period of currency of the list.
5. Method of appointment : Direct Recruitment.
6. Age limit : 18-36. Only candidates born between 02.01.1986 and 01.01.2004 (both
dates included) are eligible to apply for this post with usual age
relaxation to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other Backward
Communities. (For other conditions regarding the age relaxation please
see Part II Para 2 of the General Conditions).
7. Qualifications : A certificate of Class II or Class III Survey Recorder of the Indian Naval
Hydrographic Survey Branch
OR
A Diploma in Civil Engineering issued by Government recognized
Polytechnics in Kerala or its equivalent.
OR
Petty Officer, Seaman of the Indian Navy with Quarter Master First
Class or Radar Controller First Class or Radar Plotter First Class of the
Indian Navy. [GO(P) No. 48/94/F&PD dated 08.09.1994]
Note:-
(1) Candidates with Survey Recorder II qualification must possess
not less than 2 years experience in Hydrographic Survey from
the date of passing Survey Recorder II examination.
(2) Candidates with Survey Recorder III qualification must
possess not less than 4 years experience in Hydrographic
Survey from the date of passing Survey Recorder III
examination.
(3) Candidates possessing Diploma in Civil Engineering of
Polytechnics must possess not less than one year experience
with the Hydrographic Survey wing of the Kerala State Port
Department.
(4) Petty Officer, Seaman of the Indian Navy must possess not
less than 10 years experience in the Indian Navy.
(5) In case candidates possessing Diploma in Civil Engineering
do not possess the requisite experience, candidates without
experience will be recruited and will be given training in the
duties of Field Assistant for one year under the Hydrographic
Survey Wing of the Port Department.
(6) The experience prescribed for Direct Recruitment shall be one
